I haven't forgotten the blog...

I have NOT forgotten to update I promise! But I HAVE been incredibly busy with the little miss! I can't believe she will be 6 weeks old tomorrow! Christmas is this week, and so afterwards I promise to update again. Below are a few of my favorite pictures we had taken when she was just 8 days old.

Happy Turkey Day!!

Happy Thanksgiving!!!!

As in many years we have so much to be thankful for. And day to day we do forget to always be thankful.

This year we are eternally thankful for the amazing gift of our little girl. Parenting is a whole new world. One in which I couldn't study for, take a test, pass it and be confident in knowing what in the world I am doing! But, each day is a new lesson.

Here are some fun photos from today.

She loves her Mommy!!!

Due Date...

As you may notice above, the pregnancy countdown ticker shows 40 weeks and 1 day pregnant. Yep...still pregnant. Our due date was yesterday. So...now we are officially over due!
At our doctor appointment on Friday, we were at 1 cm and 50% effaced. However, according to the doctor, the baby's head was still up high above the cervix. Now what?!
We go back on Wednesday morning for another appointment and an ultrasound to see what the little girl is up to. The doctor said as long she is healthy and the uterus environment is still healthy for her, they will let me continue the pregnancy up to 10-12 days post due date before discussing induction.

YUCK!!!!
Yuck to induction!
Yuck to being pregnant for 10-12 more days possibly!
Yuck that I have spent a week home from work without the baby arriving!

So anyway...that is the latest. We continue to wait. Below is a picture of me at 40 weeks pregnant, on the due date.

November...

November....I've been waiting for this month to come since February. It seemed so far away. And, now it's here. Wow. I started my maternity leave from work, and now I am somewhat lost. I've been counting down the days to not have to be at work, and now I find myself oddly unsure of what to do being off work.
Yesterday the hubby and I CLEANED this house! Yes, call it nesting...I call it....this baby is on her way, which means people will be entering my house and it's a mess!!! Anyway, the entire house is clean. Really. We washed the bathrooms' sinks, floors, toilets, mirrors, and bathtubs! I dusted...actually picked things up and dusted under them! Up and downstairs is vacuumed. All laundry is done. Bed linens have been changed and washed. We even made a turkey dinner last night, cleaned it up, the hubby had a hearty lunch packed for today, and I was up this morning tossing chunks of turkey meat into the crockpot with veggies and noodles for soup tonight. I went out this morning had my hair trimmed, swung through the Daily Grind drive through, got a latte....and now here I am.
Unfortunately this time alone off of work may be a bad thing. My head starts to think WAY too much and overanalyze, and the fear of this upcoming birth just rings throughout me! So, when do you stop being scared? Sounds stupid to be scared...I've known for a very long time how babies are born...just didn't realize it would be reality one day.
Anyway, when I do get my head to stop thinking I am engrossed in knitting and crocheting. I've been working on all sorts of projects. It is very therapeutic for me, and I am ridiculously addicted to yarn, knitting needles, and crochet hooks!

I made this pumpkin hat for a friend's little boy.

This "baby cocoon" will be used as a photo prop for our little girl when we have her newborn photos taken.

I LOVE these hats called an umbilical hat. Saw the hat pattern, found the yarn I liked...and voila!

This is the hat I made to bring the baby home in. It goes well with the outfit her daddy picked out for her.

I have 2 blankets as well I am completing. One blanket, I am waiting to find the last chunk of yarn needed. The second, may not be done until she arrives. I also have 3 more baby hats completed, just not uploaded on the photos yet.

Well...perhaps sometime this week we will have news! Otherwise, we go back to the doctor on Friday. Our "official" due date is Saturday...the anticipation is probably the worst at this point!

39 Weeks!

39 weeks.....it truly doesn't seem real. In fact although I have known since February 27th that we were pregnant...and I feel this living baby beating my insides everyday....it still just isn't quite real. BUT, it is about to be very real...very shortly!!!

At our doctor appointment on Friday, the baby's heartbeat was a strong 160 beats per minute (probably thanks to the pumpkin spice coffee I had that morning). Also, the doctor said we are at 1 cm dilated. It's not much, but it's a beginning! Yikes!!

Anyway, today at 39 weeks I went to a baby shower for a co-worker. Below you will see a picture of myself and 2 girls I work with at the hospital. I am due this week, and the other girls are due within 3 days of eachother in January, so they have about 10 weeks to go. Both of the other girls are carrying boys. It's crazy how different we all carry! Just keep in mind I am due...so my nice LARGE size reflects that!

Hopefully more news to come shortly!!!

38 Weeks!

Welcome to full term pregnancy! According to our doctor we actually hit full term at 37 weeks. Anyway, our baby girl can arrive anytime from now till 2 weeks after our official due date according to the doctor. I have informed the doctor that 2 weeks past due date is absolutely unacceptable!

Below is the baby belly at 38 weeks!

Maternity Photography

We are very fortunate to have a good friend from the theatre who is also an awesome photographer! We took a beautiful Saturday afternoon and worked with Sarah to get some beautiful photos of our baby to be. This was a wonderful experience for us, and I think the pictures reflect the amazing process this has been. At first I was incredibly hesitant to show any skin...I have spent years trying to avoid anyone looking at my body...particularly my belly when you have some pudge around the middle! Anyway, it all went smoothly, Sarah was wonderful, and the pictures are beautiful. Can't wait to get the newborn ones done when our little girl arrives!!

Enjoy the pics!

Cupcake Nursery

So here we are...3 weeks from due date! So I thought I would post some of the pictures of the baby's nursery. When I started looking for a nursery theme, I wanted something a little different but sweet. Initially I thought I'd look for a Wizard of Oz theme nursery...how cool...flying monkey mobile??? Yeah...so I thought that might be a little scary for a baby girl. So, as I searched through butterflies, and flowers, and princess, and pink pink pink....I came upon cupcakes! And just fell in love!!! So here is a glance at our "Sweet" nursery!

Wreath on the door made by my sister-in-law

A glance in on the crib

The glider with the cupcake boppy!!

Dresser with changing pad on top

View of the crib from the other side of the room

The baby's gigantic bear....still haven't named the bear

The sign that hangs above the baby's crib...Sugar and Spice and Everything Nice, That's What Little Girls are Made of....I love it!

This photo is one of our sonogram pictures that we had matted and framed and then everyone at our baby shower in August signed.

Front of the crib with the cupcake bedding!

This old dresser was beat up and had aged brass handles. My sister-in-law worked her magic with a little paint and creativity and produced this beautiful dresser!

The closet in the room is full! Check out all the diapers at the top!

Even in the bathroom the baby has a cabinet all to herself!

So there you go....a look into the "sweet" nursery for our little cupcake on her way!!! I know...cheesey! Oh well, in case she turns out to be a tomboy I got to enjoy all the girly stuff now!

We are anxiously waiting now. Only 7 full works days left for me before maternity leave.....YAY!!!!!!
